General Leasing Questions

Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?

Great news! We have a feature that lets you pay online! View your balance, submit electronic checks, or pay with a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover from any computer. You can even submit maintenance requests. Just log onto our website and click the "Resident's" tab and then click the "Pay Rent" link. This will take you to our resident portal. There is a convenience charge for this service.

 

Do you allow pets?

No, unfortunately we do not allow pets.

How are roommates matched?

Rooms are assigned first come first serve. If you have a specific layout/floor request please include it in the "Bedroom/Floor Requested" section of the application. Please note this is a request and is not guaranteed that we are able to accommodate the request. Please also make sure that you include any preferred roommates in the "Requested Roommate" section. If you do not have roommates, please note that you will be matched based on roommate questionnaire in your application.”

If I am over 21 do I need a guarantor?

Yes. All leases are required to have a guarantor. If an approved guarantor cannot be obtained, Greystar will accept a security deposit of one and a half installments.

Is parking included?

Parking is separate. It costs $225 per space and there are a limited number of spaces. Please call the leasing office for more information.

What types of leases are available?

We offer 12 installments and individual leases. At The Varsity, you are not responsible for anyone else, including roommates. There is no liability on your end to pay the rent of any other resident or roommate, which is an advantage over most apartments and rental properties.

What utilities are included in my monthly installment?

Trash/recycling and high-speed Internet are included in your rental installment. Utilities such as gas, electricity, water/sewer, liability insurance, and service fees are not included in the rental rate.

Will you send me a bill for each installment?

We do not send any invoices, but for your convenience, you can use our online resident portal to check your balance at any time. The front page of your lease dictates exactly when each payments is due.

When is my first payment due?

The first installment is due Aug 1st.

Can I sublet my room?

We unfortunately do not allow subletting; however, we do allow lease reassignments. Please contact the leasing office to learn more about this process and how to complete it accurately.

Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?

You are welcome to bring additional furniture with you, but don't forget that we fully furnish all of our apartments. If you wish to replace some of our furniture and use yours instead, you will be responsible for finding storage for our furniture and putting the items back before your lease end date.

When can I move in?

Our Fall move in date is 08/21/2023, The lease will run from August 21st, 2023 through July 26th, 2024 as a 12 installment lease (only).

Renewal Questions

Can I request different roommates?

We want you to be comfortable here, and we will do everything we can to accommodate your roommate requests.

What is a "renewal?"

Are you loving it here and can't imagine leaving at the end of your lease? By signing a renewal, you get to extend your stay at your community!

If I renew, will my guarantor have to sign again?

Yes, your guarantor will have to sign again for your new lease.

If I renew, do I have to move out then move back in?

When you renew and choose to stay in your current spot, no moving is required!

I'm graduating in December, can I still renew?

Contact the office for details on the options available to you.

I just moved in, is it too early to renew?

Renewing now will provide the most benefit to you. By signing early, you will secure your space for next year and take advantage of the best pricing available.

How do I renew?

We know how busy you are, so we have made the process as quick and easy as possible. Renewing is a easy as "1,2,3!" Just following these steps:

1. Open your renewal email from us.
2. Review the terms, and click "Accept"
3. Follow the prompts to sign the new lease agreement.
