I’ve had a great time so far. It’s my second year living in Varsity and I was able to move from a 4b4b to a 2b2b. The rooms are bigger now.
Never had any problems living here! I like how maintenance helps us with all the light bulbs and clogs, and in a timely manner. It’s safe too I’ve never felt worried about anything. Only concern is the trash chute is always clogged so our hallway smells sometimes
I am enjoying living here so far, but moving in was stressful for me. I had to do a lot of cleaning and put in maintenance requests multiple times before I received a response.
Nice building, okay staff. Gym has now lost its small weights. Printers sometimes have ink and paper. There are seldom coffee cups for drinks. Nice rooms and bathrooms.
The experience has been pretty great so far! The staff are always really friendly and it’s easy when it comes to picking up packages and stuff! My only complaint is that the building has been getting a bit noisier than usual because of the touring groups, but that’s understandable given that now is the touring season,
Living at Varsity Apartments has been great because of the great amenities, great location, and great quality of apartments. The rooms are noticeably big
It's been ok. Location of the building is good. For price amenities are average, the maintenance response time is slow. Staff is good and responsive. Overall- fine
Love the location here!! Amazing gym and great study place. However, I think some chairs and table should be renewed cuz it’s kind of damaged. But so far I love living here!
Most people are nice, but there are some inconsiderate residents. The staff is super friendly and warm. The coffee and cookies are great; I wish the coffee machine was on 24/7
This is the second year that I have lived in Varsity Apartments. I originally came because of the five month lease offer, and I stayed another year because that apartments are beautiful, furnished, and in a great location.
Good location, very close to downtown. The events set up are fun, such as waffles in pajamas. Moreover the community staff are really friendly and helpful
-Location and amenities are great.
-Walls are very thin, which has been disruptive.
-Good size bedrooms.
-More storage in kitchen would be nice.
-Trash chute overflows and makes the hallway smell.
-Shorter term leases worked with my program.
Significant problems with the apartment, have requested maintenance to no avail. Community overall is nice, but the staff is not helpful in most cases.
Overall a good community with good facilities! Staff is helpful, but are a little slow/unclear with maintenance requests, package notifications, etc.
i have been living here for 2 years. it is a great experience overall. The bathroom is spacious and has decent privacy in the apartment. The fitness room is good. price is going up every year which is my biggest concern.
I haven’t had any issues. Somethings for improving is the penthouse staying open later, upgrading the weight lifting equipment at the gym rather than just the cardio equipment.
This is a great building. My apartment is very modern and nice and spacious. I love the amenities it offers (gym, sky lounge, study spaces).
My apartment was in good quality when I moved in. All of the other amenities are also very good. The only minor complaint is how it seems like there is no penalty to just throw your trash on the floor of the trash room.
The best thing about the Varsity is its location. It is precisely in the middle of downtown, and everything is about a 15 mins walk (Central Campus, Kerrytown, Main St.). The apartments are beautiful but are tiny in size. Storage is a big issue, whether in the pantry or your room. The biggest problem is the fact that the trash and garbage chute has been blocked for over a month now. It's utterly disgusting and smells. Overall, compared to other apartment buildings with similar amenities/price point, it is okay but not a "steal".
There are just a few things I hope will change as we settle into the year. First, the recycling chute is locked and all the recycling bins are full. Packages are still being put in moving carts after a month of being here. I have not been able to use the free printing because there are always issues with the printer.
Packages sometimes are hard to find. Several packages are just left outside the room, which are very easy to be stolen. Amazon packages are in the bins in the lobby, people can just take it. Despite this, everything is perfect.
It's very quiet here and I love it. Varsity has most of the necessary facilities, like gym, vending machine, trash room, etc. It's very convenient!
Amenities and location is amazing. It is central to everything and close to State Street. The walls, however, are very thin and I can hear my neighbors very easily.
great community with good amenities and facilities. No problems with noise. I like cookie from the counter that they serve every morning!!!!
I love the location here, really close to Central campus. Great gym, and great study room for students who loves to study late at night. :))
Overall living experience is good. Moving in, the apartment was clean and had all the appropriate furniture and appliances. Only down side is that the walls have pipes in them, making them kind of loud during some hours.
it has been very good so far. the staff is helpful, my apartment is nice and spacious, and the gym is great. the location is also ideal for walking to classes and to downtown Ann Arbor.
It has starbucks machine on the lobby, have great gym, vending machine, temperature system, laundary, location, and other great and convinient stuff
I like everything except that it takes a long time to get things fixed in the rooms. My bathroom floor is leaking and kitchen lights are not turning on, but it has never been fixed.
Living at Varsity is great! It’s close to my classes and right off State St. if I ever want to grab something to eat. The rooms are very nice and they have many building amenities
Nice location. The amenities are good. The rooms are nice as well. Other services could improve. It has been a month since the move-in day and maintenance portal is still unavailable. Trash room is always jammed as well.
It’s not a bad apartment. Everything works and the decor is decently new. Only complaints are that a bunch of mail is left unattended in the lobby (possibility of theft) and that the garbage chute is sometimes clogged. Other than that no issues so far.
Feng Lai Thomas H.
Nice room but really bad maintenances. Trash chute often get clogged, and the corridor becomes really smell as a result. Also, the printer always out of paper or ink.
Great living conditions! The washer/dryer in unit has been a LIFESAVER. I also love the gym and yoga room, it has truly helped me get back into working out.
Although the room is kind of small with unpainted ceiling, the equipments are good and the management staff are really nice. I’m happy that I chose Varsity.
The environment and the service are good in general.
We had many problems the first week we moved in, but they were all solved in the end.
Neighbors are really friendly, everything was clear and well-explained. Move in process was really smooth. We had a faulty dishwasher, but other than that, 5 stars!
The apartment is spacious and very nice, looking forward to living here for a year! Kitchen is perfect and washer/dryer in the apartment is super convenient. Common room has nice furniture and TV.
The location is very convenient. It only takes me a few minutes to walk to the campus, the library, and grocery stores. The apartment is also well furnished.
Just moved in. Things seem nice, though there's a lot of undergrads so there's a lot of noise late at night depending on your neighbors.......
I have yet to move in, but so far things have been great on the communication end. I’ve reached out to varsity with many questions and always receive prompt and helpful responses.
So far everything is great. My roommate and I are a little disappointed in the cupboard capacity and quantity in the kitchen. It seems like the kitchen was build for people who don't own dishes or cups or silverware??? Also, there is a lack of lighting. BUT everything else is GREAT.
I really like Ann Arbor and I really like varsity. It gives me a great location that is close to campus and close to many coffee shops, restaurants and bars.
Great location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Gym is very well equipped. Noise is never an issue. Staff is friendly. Maintenance and management could be improved by being more proactive (e.g. fixing trash room full ups)
The living experience is very clean and nice. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, I really feel like I belong and accepted. The facilities are also extraordinary,
The staff at Varsity are absolutely wonderful. They are all friendly and helpful, and I have been glad to have a group of friends as community assistants and managers.
Once of the cheaper high rises in Ann Arbor and conduct a very professional living atmosphere. There is enough space for the individual and the amenities are nice.
Varsity was a great place to live in. Staff was friendly and very helpful in the case that we needed their assistance. The facilities are very nice
The apartment looks great and there are a lot of amenities. I'm looking forward to living there during this coming school year. It'll be an interesting experience for sure.
Quiet and conducive for learning and relaxing. I really enjoy how friendly the staff is. Also the apartment is fairly clean. I enjoy the renovations done to the gym
it’s been pretty good. the staff is friendly and i enjoy the atmosphere. i don’t exactly like how you can only get packages during office hours though since i’m out a lot during the day due to my schedule
I love the location of Varsity, and I also really like my apartment. With that said, maintenance could really be quicker. For some reason whenever I file a maintenance request, I get three random emails that don't mean anything. Then I constantly have to remind the front desk to get my issue resolved, or else it will be weeks before I hear from maintenance.
Varsity is a good location, but not great. The amenities are some of the best in Ann Arbor to compensate. I find the prices high in general, but relative to other ann arbor housing. Lastly, the room size could definitely improve.
I have yet to live there, but the reviews that I have received from fellow University of Michigan students are incredible. Varsity seems to be one of the best apartment complexes on campus.
My lease begins in the fall, but communication in terms of lease application and approval could be greatly improved, and the process should not have taken as long as it did.
All the amenities that Varsity offers are very nice. The rooms are also very spacious and accommodating. I also appreciated the kindness of the tour guide that showed me around Varsity for the first time.
Varsity apartments are cozy and conveniently located. The amenities are some of the best you can find in apartments around the Ann Arbor area
The Varsity has been a great experience thus far. The building is always kept clean, the staff is friendly, and I love my morning coffee. It is in the best location ever.
I love it, by far the best place to live on campus. Just the aesthetic of the building is great. It’s amazing coming to a place lols this after a long day of classes
I love the gym here and staff is very friendly. The free coffee is great as well. I have a lot of friends who live here with me so that makes it feel like home.
Nice and friendly staff, easy to use online application and payment system. Clean and cozy apartment with beautiful design. A lot of useful facilities.
Great location and nice amenities, like free coffee and a gym within the building. Public spaces are all kept pretty clean and neat. I wish the roof was kept open later hours, and that the trash rooms were cleaned a little more regularly, though.
The space is great for my roommates and I and has been great. The location is good because it is still close enough to campus but gives me more ability to be close to other locations in Ann Arbor that I like.
My time at Varsity has not yet started. In spite of the transition to new management causing some confusion I am excited to move in an begin my next two years living here.
All around Varsity has good energy, love the activities that the staff puts on - excited to live there again this fall! They are wonderful about animals and keep their common spaces nice and tidy.
I really like the staff and think that they are really involved and kind to the residents. I enjoy living here because they are super helpful and understanding.
Great experience. Would live here again. Loved it. Good location and amenities are nice as well. Would recommend it to others as well. Great thanks
I love the amenities - especially the gym and free coffee. I like that the building is locked all hours of the day for safety and I love the location.
A very clean and safe environment! Staff are warm and welcoming and the ammenities are great. With roommate matching available, the move-in process feels a lot less overwhelming
Could be more updated and could have a pool or hot tub but besides that it is amazing. Decor in the front lobby could be nicer. Apartment couches could be comfier.
I have loved living in Varsity. It is super conveniently located, and so close to all of my favorite places! Everything is kept incredibly clean, so it feels really relaxing to come home after a long day.
My experience was really nice and great and fun. It is so quiet there which is super great for when you’re a student of course. I highly recommend this place.
Great amenities. Absolutely perfect location with nice view esp on the west side. Good service and always has residents engagement/activities. Gym is clean and spacious.
Amazing views. Great apartments with great furniture. Nice layout. Love the events, cookies, and coffee. Gym is wonderful (except for never having wipes to clean the equipment), package pickup is easy and front desk staff are friendly. Wish maintenance responded more quickly to maintenance requests.
Nice study appartment in the Ann Arbor area compared to other student housing. Location is great and room and furnitures are also nice. However, the lighting in each apartmenr and the corridor is very bad.
great location and space!! the amenities are awesome and I enjoy the little events they do in the lobby. staff could be a bit more attentive and accomodating to residents
I think living here is great! The only thing i would ask for better is the maintenance and also the front desk staff should be more attentive
Living at Varsity has been one of the best choices I’ve made in terms of housing. In the building, convenience and luxury is extremely visible through the quality of each apartment and the customer service from the managers!
Great place to live! I love the amenities, especially the fitness room and study room. As a student, having your own space that you’re comfortable in is really important. I wish I had signed to live here earlier.
The front desk and office staff at Varsity are always very friendly and willing to help if you have a problem. Maintenance is also pretty fast if something needs to be fixed.
My experience has been alright, but I had some issues with my bathtub that never got fixed. I put in maintenance requests multiple times and a permanent solution was never reached. I still have to hold the drain plug up to drain my tub.
I really love living at varsity. I really the location of the apartments, close to everything (school, shops, food) in Ann Arbor. The new management is extremely friendly and I always have great conversations with them. The only problem I have is that residents jam the trash shutes a lot. I know maintenance tries really hard to keep it together but unfortunately not all residents cooperate.
Great place to live! The views are amazing! Great events and friendly staff. Only wish is for better response to maintenance, community spaces that get cleaned more often, and that trash doesn’t back up as frequently
Varsity has been great. I love the location and I think it has great value. There has been some recent problems with maintenance that have been a bit frustrating.
I loved the location, as it’s super close and convenient to campus. Amenities are pretty good, and technical difficulties are fixed relatively fast. dditionally the activities that varsity puts on are fun.
So far it’s been a pretty good experience. Definitely would recommend. Nice rooms. Nice amenities. Very quiet. Nice part of campus. And very close to classes.
I am so glad to live at Varsity! Considering the other beautiful high rise apartments in Ann Arbor, Varsity is certainly one of the top student living environments at Michigan!
Living at Varsity has been pretty great. No complaints except for slow elevators and thin walls between apartments. A gas fire pit outside (on the 13th floor) would also be pretty nice.
Overall I absolutely love living at Varsity. To begin, the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and everyone who works here is as accommodating as they can me. In addition it is a great location with awesome amenities.
I like living at Varsity a lot, my unit is the perfect size for me and my roommate, the view from our apartment is great, and there's so many amenities to take advantage of. However, the staff can be rude and dismissive of the people living there, which I don't really understand.
I have had a great experience at varisty, however, the only complaint is that our garbage room keeps flooding. In general, I love the gym it’s incredible and so convenient and never too crowded!
Trash disposal does not work. Windows are dirty. The washing mashie leaves plates dirty. Overall good experience though. very little storage in kitchen cabinets
the mail system is very confusing. I do not like that some mail is delivered at my door, some is emailed to pick up, and some is in the box with the key. it is very confusing.
I think the apartment itself is very nice, but the desk staff is flat out mean sometimes. Like when I go to the desk for a problem, I feel like I am treated as if it was my fault when one major perk of living in a nice apartment is that these kinds of problems get solved for you. I think the major major thing is making the staff much more friendly and just more open to solving problems. Like when I ask for paper and get told there no more and when I ask when more is coming I get told I have no idea, its somewhat annoying that everyone is clueless.
I like living here because I got a short term lease which makes it so I don't have to sublet during the winter or summer. My biggest pet peeve about living here is that the elevators always seem to go past my floor when I'm waiting.
Living at Varsity has been great! I was impressed with how spacious and clean my apartment was upon moving in, and the amenities and location are solid. I appreciate that it’s been quiet here too.
I love the spacious apartments, as well as the amenities involved. Having the fitness center saves me a lot of time and I can still squeeze a work out in on busy days. Packages come right to your door or mailbox and it is a quiet environment.
Great location! Great gym! Great 5 month leases! The rooms are spacious enough and with nice amenities. The only thing I struggle with is a lack of communication from management.
Great overall experience. Nice facilities, friendly staff. Apartment layout is nice and I love my room! Maintenance's system is a bit confusing, but they did eventually come when we requested!
I really enjoy Varsity! The location is amazing - it's at a perfect place right near downtown, but also close enough to campus to make getting to class easy. The community itself is really nice - I love the events they hold like succulent planting, pumpkin painting, and more. The rooms are also really nice and were really clean when we moved in! I love all the amenities like the nice gym as well.
Overall, living at Varsity has been amazing. Management is very receptive to emails and is always helpful. The only thing I would say maybe needs some updates is the carpeting in floor hallways.
I love the apartment, but the space didn’t seem to be well kept by previous leasers!!! The amenities like the gym, coffee machine, and seasonal activities make living here so special. Can’t beat the location either!!!
I enjoy my time living in Varsity. The location is great since most of my courses are held in the central campus. It is also convenient to get to grocery stores and restaurants. It might be better if there’s more parking lots!
Overall the experience is among the best ones on campus. the common areas and bedrooms are very comfortable for living. The delivery of packages is also very efficient.
Gears spot to live for the semester and really like living in this part of town. While some days during move in it was difficult because the staff were new it all worked out
Love the location and amenities! I moved here for my last year of grad school, and I regret I didn’t move here earlier. The gym is my favorite amenitiy!
Excellent living space - spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, large living room, suitable kitchen. Garbage is the only big issue (esp. on 4th floor!)
The Varsity has provided me with such a positive living and working experience. The staff is kind and understanding and the value of the apartment is great.
maintenance response time is actually one of the worst i have ever experienced. We filled out the maintenance form twice and spoke to the front desk on multiple occasions. it has now been three weeks and no one has done anything.
I have really good living experience so far. The location, the facilities are determined elements for me to live here. I have a strong recommendation though. I would appreciate if you could have the coffee machine turned on 24 hours. This will greatly motivate coffee lovers.
Pretty good! However maintainance request was sent a week ago but haven’t heard anything back. Other than that the experience at varsity has been great.
It's been fine. Location is good, room is decent. Everything works even if WiFi is pretty slow most of the time. Overall I'm happy with my choice
Maintenance is not prompt responding to maintenance requests. In the last building I lived in they followed up the next day. The staff are not particularly helpful in speeding up this process either.
staff isn’t friendly manager is never there. Coffee and cookies are always empty. Printer always empty. You also lost my package and didn’t tell me another one had arrived for 4 weeks I never received an email and when I spoke to you about my lost package they gave me the other one and said “I guess we never checked it in it’s been sitting here for weeks” and then couldn’t find my other package
Only thing to improve would be matinence. The trash makes hallways and garage smell so could be taken out more and should specify what exactly is included in each room
So far so good, except for the fact that the printer has never worked when I’ve needed it and there hasn’t always been someone at the front desk when necessary.
It has really turned around. I love living at Varsity now. The people are so nice and wonderful to deal with. I wish I could stay here for another year. They are so attentive.
I have been at Varsity for 2 years. I chose to stay an extra year because I have had the best experience with varsity. They have great facilities, staff, maintenance team and chocolate cookies every morning which is a huge plus haha.
The location is fantastic and amenities are good. Love that there is nighttime security. Just wish maintenance requests were handled (or even acknowledged) a bit faster, and warning was given about when exactly they would come.
The varsity is a great place to live. The location is unbeatable, and there are a pretty good selection of amenities. It seems like the printer in the computer lab is always out of ink though.
The WiFi almost never works. The staff that work here are rude and mean. The staff will promise things that never actually come to fruition.
Sometimes the community areas are very messy and smelly, which is unfortunate because of how much we all pay to live here. For instance, the hallway carpets have tons of stains and the lighting is quite dark, and the computer lab typically is littered with food and smells. Also, sometime the community assistants (the students who live here) are quite rude to residents.
The apartment and location are fine, but is entirely overpriced for what it is. I am moving to a place where I get all of the same amenities for a third of the price. That combined with the lackluster staff that always seem displeased to have any human interaction with their residents make the decision to move an easy one.
sent you money through Chase QuickPay(R) with Zelle(SM), and we're processing the payment. Your sender is registered with a Zelle member bank that supports real-time payments. You'll usually get their payment in a few minutes.
Varsity is great. Easily the best place I've lived in, in my undergraduate experience. There are always fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the morning and the front desk people are always super friendly.
I really like living at varsity. The amenities are great, the rooms are spacious enough, and the facility is usually kept clean and neat. I also love the coffee and cookies provided in the morning at the front desk. I wish the apartments were cheaper, but I understand that the location plays a big factor in the price. It is close to bus routes and overall a great place to live!
Very nice, very comfortable. I love the gym, the study room and the yoga room on the second floor. Best Apartment here in Ann Arbor. Strongly recommended!
customer service sucks. People who work here aren't friendly at all. Once I asked maintenance to wait for a minute and he just skipped my room altogether
The varsity is a nice and welcoming living environment with an excellent location and a broad range of amenities. It's only about a 5 minute walk to central camps.
Living here has been smooth sailing since August. The facilities are beautiful, great incentives and accessible maintenance. Would absolutely be renewing if I were not moving for grad school
Hall is very neat and tidy, sometimes when i request a repair, the repair comes pretty late (i.e. after a few days), this needs to be improved.
Chak Lam Jason L.
I would not live here again. It is a nice place to stay for a little while. But the maintenance doesn't happen in a timely manner, and the people are incredibly rude.
I reallyy like the free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies we have every morning. However, i wish they could be provided earlier as I have classes at 8:30 and would love to be able to grab coffee earlier than 9am
Varsity is a great place to live in Ann Arbor, especially if you're a student! While its a walk from central campus, its a great location by State Street and has the best gym facility! Could improve their wifi connection though.
Management is a little mean at times, but apartment is nice. Toilet clogs a lot which isn't good sometimes it overflows. Other than that, it is fine.
i like living in varsity very much, the corridors are very clean and the vibe is good for studying. However, there are always no ink and paper for the printer, which needs to be solved.
I love the varsity, the staff here is great my 2 years of living here has been great. I love the cookies in the morning and how convient it is to get to class !
My apartment community is amazing! There are always fresh baked cookies and cool events going on, the people at the front desk are also super friendly which is great after coming home from a long day of work and classes.
its really nice and i like all the amenities but i dont like that the bedrooms in my four bed two bath are so different in size when we all pay the same rent. also there isnt enough cabinet space in the kitchen.
The amenities of the apartment are amazing for the price you pay! The best part is my own bathroom as well as the washer and dryer in the room.
My living experience here has been so wonderful. Everything I need in a living situation; gym, coffee, tanning, printing. The list goes on A wonderful experience
I've had a great time at varsity this year. The amenities are great and the rooms are very big and spacious. The oinly convern that I have is the lack of socialness but
So far I have had a great experience at Varsity, my only concern is that the parking spots are very difficult to get in and out of with an SUV.
This is my first year living at Varsity Ann Arbor, and it has been excellent thus far. The apartments are very nice, the maintainence is quick, and the location of the building couldn't be better.
I love it here! The gym is hands down the best part of living here. The walk is a little far from the South U area but it's definitely worth it.
I dont really notice any community within the apartment buildings but every one seems very polite and there isnt too much noise or anything. I would say people treat the facility with respect.
I have no complaints other than that occasionally the paper and ink in the printer run out and it’s only able to be refilled during office hours. Also the batteries in the keyboard are always needing replaced. I love my room though and especially the free massages.
The people around me are great! Some friendlier than others but all around we have a great sense of community. Most of us are students so it is nice being able to find others in your classes to study with.
The experience is great and I really like living here. Varisty is so close to the central campus. It is only a few minuties walk. And it is close to all the restaurants and shops.
I love the Varsity. The building and facilities are new and updated and always clean. The complimentary cookies and coffee are always a bonus. I would recommend living here to anyone and everyone. I love that there is gym and ability to print for free.
Awesome place awesome people awesome commodities awesome gym great social activities free Starbucks free cookies massages and even more. What else is there?
Corridors always very clean, but often times without coffee, coffee cups, and cream, which can be frustrating in mornings. Also, printer constantly without paper and ink.
Chak Lam Jason L.
The room has been fantastic so far. The maintenance has been a little slow and has been a bit of an issue. However, my experience has been positive so far overall.
I love living here! It's an awesome place to live! Environment is great and so are the commodities. Apartments are fully furnished and are kept up to date.
Great community within the apartment, staff, CA's and the janitorial service is always super nice and friendly. Maintenance is pretty slow in responding to maintenance request all the time.
Great location, nice room, and overall good experience. I just wish that maintenance requests were handled a bit more promptly and that the walls were a bit more soundproofed.
Varsity is located very centrally, which is convenient for traveling to the University of Michigan, shops and amenities. The apartments could be better maintained but overal quality of the accommodation is good.
Management is good and responds to emails in a timely manner. People at front desk are always nice. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy but usually quiet.
It has been great so far. I really enjoy the community and the amenities. My only issue has been the strict late payment policy. There was a confusion on when I had to submit my second payment and was threatened with a court procedure.
It's a great apartment with excellent furniture, and settings. You have your own bathroom, they provides every furniture you need in your room. And they have study room, tan room, yoga room and excercise room.
However, the management is poor, they are not helpful and sometimes rude. I think it has been improved a bit this year tho.
- windows open
- indoor bike storage
- sky lounge (please keep it open for longer at night)
- doesn't feel crowded
- Even with windows close, the sound of garbage trucks wakes me up at night sometimes
- Similarly priced apartments are usually a little bit bigger.
The staff are unfriendly and less than accommodating. It is like they do not want to help the residents at all. Not only do they NOT answer the on call phone, they are rude. If it wasn't for the staff I would be giving Varsity 4 stars.
I really like everything about it from the rooms to everything the building offers, like the sky lounge or the study rooms and printers. However the rooms are quite dark so I had to buy a few floor lamps..
Varsity is a great place to live. It has a great staff and friendly livening environment. I would definitely consider living here again. It’s amaizng!
Everything at Varsity has been excellent! The living arrangements are clean and esthetically pleasing, the gym is excellent, and the overall community is very safe.
the apartment is nice and i feel very safe, I think maintenance takes awhile to get back with you but overall I have enjoyed my experience here
Noise can be an issue because the walls are very thin but other than that everything is very nice and the amenities such as gym and roof top are so nice
I am very happy with my living space. The rooms are spacious and the furniture is high quality. However, the management could be improved. There is always a problem with printing (no paper, ink, etc) and trash gets backed up, causing hallways to stink.
Varsity is a nice building and is in a great location but there are small annoyances. Not enough elevators, insufficient lighting, no fan in the bathroom, trash rooms often dirty, etc. These things can add up quickly to diminish a resident's experience.
The apartment was clean when I moved in and my view is great. It's nice that it came furnished and I like the size of my bedroom and bathroom. The location is also wonderful.
I believe varsity ann arbor is currently doing very well in terms of managing and catering renters' needs. Specifically, i am impressed by how quickly the staff will respond to customers' emails.
I love The Varsity. The community is well maintained and beautiful. My experience here has been awesome so far and is looking forward to next year !
It's a good community, I guess. I've gotten a couple noise complaints but I'm pretty sure it's just because the guy who lives next to me is a whiner.
An excellent place to live. The location is unbeatable and I enjoy being so close to downtown. I also appreciate how quickly maintenance responds to issues.
The gym facility is beyond amazing, and the staffs are amazing.
Wifi and other amenities are one of the best in AA area. Btw, the location of the place is amazing.
The living arrangements are nice. The maintenance crew is fast and reliable. However the skylounge should be open past 8pm, especially when no one reserves it.
Great complex, lots of amenities, overall satisfied. My only complaints are that sometimes it's a little dirty in the common areas and there is rarely paper in the printer.
Varsity is a great building with fantastic amenities and maintenance. However, the best experience I've had here is with the management. Chris in particular is so welcoming and helpful!
Great apartment, awesome facilities and decent service. My only complain is that WiFi speed can be inconsistent especially during nighttime.
Varsity is one of the best apartments here in Ann Arbor. Its location is great, 5 minutes walk to Central Campus and a bus stop that takes you to North Campus. Morning cookies are a life saver.
The location is great and the cleanliness of the structure is good overall. Customer service could be improved. The printing service needs to be improved.
I enjoy living in varsity. I'm going to live here next year as well. I just wish we had a pool in our apartment, but besides that I'm pretty much happy with my experience.
Varsity is a very nice environment. I love my house and the amenities that are included. #1 apartment. It is in a very convenient location > GOVARSITY
Fantastic, Love this building! There of course were a few minor problems at the beginning of the year, but these were quickly fixed by the building staff!
I love living here. Of course there are some drawbacks including the computer room never having paper or ink in the printer. Other than that though it's great.
Staff is always professional and friendly. The Varsity is truly a great place to live and I definitely feel that I have made the right choice living here.
best place to live in AA. amazing rooms, great workout facility with cardio and weights and machines and kettlebells, good computer lab with printer
Great apartment, with great fitness center and facilities. The rooms are in good conditions. The internet could be a little better (especially during nighttime)
Varsity is an amazing place to live in!
Staff members are extremely helpful and friendly -- they are ready to help anytime! Maintenance is also very quick.
All amenities are great; Varsity is honestly just great.
Varsity is great, location is good and is already furnitured, which is very convenient. Staff is helpful and residents are clean and polite. I'm enjoying my stay so far and hope to keep with Varsity next year.
I really enjoy all of the Halloween decorations. I love the effort to make residents feel at home. The friendliness of the staff downstairs makes it easy to make rent payments and ask questions. The reminders in the elevator are helpful for spreading awareness of events/ reminding us of when to pay rent. All of my friends that visit me here at Varsity comment on the luxurious appeal of the lobby and gym area. The cleanliness/ clean lines of the design is always appreciated as well. Thank you!
I appreciate how personable and helpful the community assistants are. Every time I have any type of slight problem, I know I can go down or call down and get immediate, beneficial help.
I enjoy living here so far. The rooms are very spacious and nice, the gym is well-equipped, the coffee machine is pretty dope too. I hope it continues to be good!
Living at Varsity has been great so far. My favorite part is the washer and dryer in the apartment. It makes life so much easier! Also love having a private bathroom.
Honestly, varsity is such a good place to live in. I will live here again next year, possibly studio or one bedroom. All are extremely friendly - love the people at the desk!
Living at the Varsty Apartments in Ann Arbor is like living at a hotel! The rooms are luxurious from the countertops to the furniture and even the bathrooms! I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone.
I absolutely love my apartment! There have been some issues with the trash room, but once I received the email from staff letting me know that it was being handled that immediately put my mind at ease. I'm still confused about a few things, such as the hours that I need to use my key fob to enter the building, who to call if I'm locked out, how I get certain packages, but I'm slowly learning.
Would like it if trash was take out more often. There is a little garbage in the parking garage as well..
Other than that my experience here has been great
Varsity is home! From
a great front staff to the community assistants, the very complete gym are and the mindblowing rooftop, Varsity is the place to live!
My experience at Varsity Ann Arbor has been very good overall. Nice apartments, great amenities, and very modern. There are a few drawbacks. The day i moved in my apartment was not clean there was some damage to the walls of my bedroom and bathroom. MOST of it has been fixed which is good but not all of it. The printer in the study room is truly a piece of garbage. More than half of the time I need it it does not work.
Aside from those issues, varsity is very nice. The business center is a great place to study, the internet is very fast, and the apartments are very nice and cozy.
The staff are friendly and very helpful! The building is always clean and the rooms and units are nice as well. I enjoy having the coffee machine and all of the events that are put on for the residents.
I love living here, it was a great decision. Recently, noise on my floor has increased into late hours of weeknights which is what dropped my rating from a 5 to a 4, but otherwise I'm very happy!
Overall I love Varsity. It's quiet, modern and clean. The staff is always friendly. The cookies and coffee are great. The elevators are the only annoying part.
Varsity is a great place to live. The bathrooms are very nice, the beds are big, and having your own washer and dryer saves a lot of time and money.
You guys are doing great so far. The construction with the elevators was annoying but some things are unavailable. I like how quick you respond to maintenance requests.
modern building but the lounge now locks and the printer never works. The gym is nice and clean. The walls are thin so you can hear parties. Have new safety features.
Varsity has been such an awesome living experience for me. The quality of the units are great. I love my view of the big house and it is in such a good location
I really love the location and all the amenities (fitness center, computer lab, rooftop terrace). However, the rent is quite expensive for the condition of the apartment. Overall, I am happy with it
I have really enjoyed my time here at Varsity Ann Arbor! The location is my favorite part because it is right in the middle of the city. I also love that the apartments come extremely well-furnished.
Varsity is a great apartment to live in for students as well as any other. I encourage you to consider Varsity Housing as an option for your next housing.
I have lived here for the last year and half and I have enjoyed my experience at the Varsity. I think the staff members are very nice and attentive and I enjoy the free coffee each morning
Good: Fully furnished, modern apartment, located right next to campus, in walking distance from almost anything that you need. Also includes Gym, and a Business Center with free printing. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Bad: Water pressure in shower is irregular, only a very small portion of the window at bedroom can be opened, kitchen is tiny for four people apartment (had to buy additional pantry).
I like here because I like fully furnished apartment so that I don't need to worry about the problem. Also, with laundry room in the apartment and wifi ready is a great energy saving. However, I have to say hope the work order service could be more efficient.
The maintenance team is not the best, they are very slow and put some things off that should be fixed so that we do not get charged for what is wrong. For example there is damage on our wall from the movers that need to be repaired because they were done by the movers. Also our refrigerator was broken with all of our food in it and they were very slow and did not contact us so all our food went bad.
I think that Varsity is doing a very nice job. The people who work here are nice and attentive. The conditions are nice. The maitenance crew is very quick.
We were promised to have an Apple TV but the lady who helped us sign the lease forgot to write it down on the lease but she promised that out apartment would have one. However, the office told us that without the evidence, we could not get the Apple TV. And it was not our fault to "forget" to put the words on the lease. We thought we got tricked.
You are doing pretty good... I wish I could have pets... Parking lot off Huron is amazing; I really enjoy having that, but I wish the Sky Lounge did NOT have to be reserved now... that was a main factor of me living here and I now I feel like its gone. Also, balconies would have been DOPE.
So far, almost everything has been fantastic. I love the building, the amenities, the activities, and the location. The reason I gave 4 stars is the difficulty with printing here. The printer is often out of paper, and the remote printing has never worked for me.
This place is a fantastic place to live. The location is fantastic and the staff are friendly. Everyone makes this place amazing and wonderful. I'm so glad I made this option.
The person who parks next to me has been less than courteous, but the staff has been helpful in trying to resolve the issue. The building quality is very nice, and I appreciate that everything is all inclusive.
There is never coffee as was stipulated in the lease. You need to follow through with what you have promised in order to make your residents happy.
Beautiful apartment, although email responses were slow over the summer and the website is terrible - although we pay our bill every month, it never says we owe money. Also rent is very high
The environment here is superb - big fitness center, gorgeous business center and rooftop lounge! The room is fully furnished and clean. You can never find this kind of apartment elsewhere!
I appreciate all you guys are doing to keep this facility clean and comfortable to live in. I enjoy the morning coffee that you guys provide each morning and it is always good to participate in the events that you guys have regularly each week.
Overall is good. Fast and good maintenance service, convenient gym room and study room. The only thing that can improve is to provide more lamp in the room, because I think it is a bit too dim for study.
My experience at Varsity has been pretty great. The building has a fabulous location and a ton of great amenities. The apartment is brand new but it was a little dirty when we moved in and some things were broken. Other than that it's been great.
My experience at varsity has been amazing. I renewed my lease for next year. The staff is so friendly and the free stuff is great! I love my apartment so much.
I love everything about Varsity, from the fresh cookies, to the monthly events, and the beautiful community facilities. My only suggestion is that maybe there could be a way for residents to buzz in guests at the front door from their apartments after office hours.
My apartment is great, but I feel that the management can be lacking. I had emailed to reserve the sky lounge and had no contact for over a week. I had to send a second email and was told that there was another event going on. Had I known a week earlier, when I sent the first email, I could have rescheduled my event. On such late notice, we had to cancel the event because there was nowhere to host it.
Fine. The room is nice but things about the building such as the call in from downstairs is never being worked on which is disappointing because it should be fixed by now.
Everything is great, but the printers rarely work. Something is either wrong with the ink or there's no paper. I love that there's coffee in the mornings and the staff are all really great!
The rooms and Sky Lounge are really nice, and everything is kept very neat and clean. The gym is also really nice. There are noise issues, though, and maintenance requests thus far haven't been handled well.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the community is clean! The location is great by being close to everywhere. What you get for the rent is a great deal :)
Everything has need great so far. My one suggestion or request is that you bring out the coffee earlier in the morning. I have many classes that start at 10am, so when it's always a bummer that there's ni coffee when j leave at 9:30.
Although the elevator rides are sometimes awkward, I love this place. The facilities are awesome and I love the free coffee in the mornings.
My cable still doesn't work- but otherwise great! This has been an icredible update from the dorms. I love the the location compared to campus.
I LOVE Varsity! The only complaint I have is the printing. The "free" printing literally NEVER works. Like ever. It's really annoying especially when I depend on it to print out homework assignments before my 8ams.
I have lived here for a bit over a month now. The apartment itself is extremely nice, with everything in quite good condition. I have needed maintenance once, and it took a bit long to be resolved. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience thus far.
the window is too small. we are allowed to pick the package only office time is not good way
after the update, the internet is sooo good. location sooo good.
I don't move in until the fall, but so far you all have been doing great! You have kept me updated on my housing information and reminded me about payments! I can't wait to live here!
Always have had problems with parking pass. Weight room is rarely cleaned as dictated by the smell. Unfortunate marketing detracts from the luxury environment that the Varsity actually provides. EDR needs to keep in mind this is not one of its typical 'college dorm' buildings nor is it a building where ppl pay only $300-500 / month. Each resident pays some $1000+ / month and at the very least should be treated like clientele not like random students. Experiences with the head manager lady from EDR have been nothing but the exact opposite of what clients should be treated like. No attempt to cater to the residents needs. A/c was broken in the gym for a few weeks and she said,"oh we didn't know, you're supposed to tell us." Another time there were some issues with the security staff one evening and instead of listening she immediately just kept saying , " I think we're going to have to agree to disagree." Never once has communication with her felt respectful. More like just a series of brush offs and passing of blame. It is a direct result of management and the way residents are treated unlike the high paying clientele they are that has prompted my friends and me to choose another place to live next year.
I wish I read the reviews before I went in. My friend had suggested this place to me, and I thought making an appointment on a Sunday would be fine.
I arrived about 2 minutes late, but it didn't matter because my appointment ended up starting 45 minutes later. I could have seen three places on my own in that time. There were walk ins who were seen before me, which was a pretty bad start. The appointment ended up taking more than 3 hours.
Apparently they can't talk about safety, which I guess makes sense, but not helpful for those not from the city. I also wrongly assumed that properties would already be pulled up according to whatever specifications I gave.
Most places I saw were either over my budget or incredibly far from where I'd be working. There were many places I was interested in that apparently weren't open or available for viewing on Sunday. We spent about two hours looking through their properties and then went to 3 or 4 of them.
Overall, Craigslist and padmapper were much much more helpful for me. I saw an ad the next day within my budget and in the area I wanted to be on Craigslist, posted by apartment people and I was infuriated. If I didn't have such a meh experience, I would have called them right away to talk about it.
If you are making an appointment with them, do your research beforehand. Otherwise, you'll just waste more time.
Great amenities (gym, rooftop, study rooms, computer lab, sky lounge, in-apartment washer and dryers, granite counter tops, lobby area, etc).
Varsity Ann Arbor offers fully-furnished units. The complex is only a 6-7 minute bike ride from class for me, and is pretty convenient all around.
Meh. Decent so far, but the building still feels very new. There's clearly some finishing touches that need to be applied. ...ahem...inteecom?
Awesome Place to Live! The leasing office is very helpful in helping me with maintenance request and other needs. The sky lounge is a good place to hang out with your friends!
Love the friendliness of the staff, but would appreciate more organization and reliability. Takes time to fulfill requests, including rent renewal deals, and seems like there aren't always clear answers. Many requests take much too long to complete, with little to no acknowledgment or updates during the process, which is incredibly frustrating. Appreciate the efforts in offering special community events, but the important aspects (such as wifi, carbon monoxide detectors, flooding in apartments) are the ones I would like more effort on and to hear about.
Love it! You guys do a great job! I have loved living here, all of the people are so nice, not to mention the free warm cookies and hot coffee in the mornings!
I have been pretty happy with Varsity. very classy and great people. the package system is the only thing that has been a little confusing but can't complain overall
Since the management changes I have been very happy with the varsity. I wish the elevators would stop breaking, but everything else has been superb. I would definitely reccomend it to a friend
You make an effort to fix situations but not as much as you should. You don't inform residents when something serious happens in the building.
